Noaki Knockout! Earrings vs Necklace

I've blogged before about trying to decide on my wedding day jewelry. Remember how I was trying to figure out what necklace to go with the neckline of the dress? (Adam - you click those links, you die.) Well, searching for jewelry and hair ornament ideas led me to Noaki Jewelry. Well, Noaki being the uber creative wonder that she is, has agreed to help me with the hairpiece! Woohoo!! Hooray for planning ahead because she has plenty of time to scour her resources for the right elements. In the mean time... she sent me a link that she knew I've love..... HER NEWEST LISTING!!
B-E-A-UTIFUL right? Wait - look closer... oh yeah those are stars and moons!!!!!
"These earrings feature vintage rhinestone pieces in the shape of a moon and star. I've attached swarovski crystals and small glass droplets. The chain and earwire are sterling. The earrings measure 3 3/4 inches long and the moon measures 1 1/4 inches across at its widest. Just lovely.

"If you're interested in a vintage one-of-a-kind piece, please visit my etsy shop and convo me with the details. My website is www.noakijewelry.com and blog is www.noakijewelry.blogspot.com"

LOVE LOVE LOVING THEM!!

Its great to ahve someone on the "inside." It might actually be quite mean of me to post this... because I might be snagging these! :-)

So here's the question... can I pull these off with a necklace? Should I skip the necklace? Should I keep the earrings for the big day simple and sang these for fun? :-)

Oh, and if stars and moons aren't your thing, do yourself a VERY BIG favor, and go check out her Etsy shop to find whatever floats your boat. Don't see it? Guess what - SHE DOES CUSTOMS!!! Did I mention Noaki rocks?

Blog Bliss: Zenadia Design to Noaki Jewelry

I was scrolling through my blogs on day... in the very marry month of August....

hmm - ok doesn't quite have the same ring to it, but oh well. (That is my absolute favorite video clip from Apollo 17. Actually, I think its my favorite clip ever... and it happens to be from Apollo 17. It and other video clips are available here. Did I mention I am an astro-geek?)

My google reader alerted me to a new Zenadia Design post. So I read, commented, followed the links, and ended up falling in love with some beautiful bridal jewelry options.

Giveaway by Noaki Jewelry

I am so excited to announce that Noaki Jewelry is sponsoring a giveaway here on Zenadia Design's blog! One lucky reader will win a $70.00 credit to Noaki's online shop. Good for one of her beautiful pieces of jewelry, or a custom made item!
If you are not familiar with Noaki's jewelry, you are in for a real treat. Each piece is handmade using heirloom quality vintage pieces which are recycled into beautiful works of art. We featured Noaki a while back here on our blog, and since then, she has added so many stunning pieces to her collection on etsy.

To enter the contest, all you have to do is leave a comment here and answer one, or both of the following questions:

1. What kind of wedding jewelry are you as a bride looking for to match your dress (Chandeliers, Tiny drops, Pearl necklaces, Bracelets, etc.)?
2. Any suggestions on how Noaki might better reach out to brides.

If you are not a bride, or are a past bride, answer the question(s) with your own advice. Maybe what kind of jewelry you look for for everyday wear. The contest will be open until Friday, August 29, at midnight. We will then draw a winner at random and announce the winner here on Zenadia Design's blog on Monday, September 1. Good luck!

She has so many B-E-A-UTIFUL options, and this post is getting long, so I'll start with some of my favorite necklaces.

With partial thanks going to Carrie of Sex and the City, peacocks and feathers seem to be all the rage. I will be going for a slightly more traditional bridal necklace, but I know there is some bride out there to rock this necklace in high fashion style.

This just seems like a GREAT destination wedding necklace. All the makings of a traditional bridal necklace with a fun funky twist.

I've said it before, (and I will probably be bridal blog flogged for saying it) but I am not into the vintage trend. Even my "something old" doesn't exactly fit the vintage category. That being said, I still think this Deco necklace is a BEAUTIFUL addition for anyone going the vintage route.

Loving this one. Old Hollywood meets something blue. It wont work for my dress cause I've got a lot of beading going on up top. But I've seen so many beautiful brides to be with bead/adornment free dresses that this would look so beautiful with!

Another beautiful deco style unique beauty. With green and white being such a popular color scheme I can imaging this could be STRIKING. ooohh... striking - that is definitely a word I want associated with my overall look!

If anyone is surprised that this is my favorite.. you apparently missed the title of my blog. LOVE LOVE LOVE the shooting star. Hate hate hate that it would definitely be too much for my dress.... which leads me to LOVE LOVE LOVE etsy! Noaki does custom designs so soon something like this will become my hairpiece! (But the hairpiece search is a WHOLE other etsy filled post.)

In case you are too impetuous to wait for my further posts on Noaki's creations... add her to your blogroll too! www.noakijewelry.blogspot.com

Stay tuned for more great jewelry!

From Hard-Edged to Sap in 1 Flower Flat

I am a fan of Stargazer lilies and its all Adam's fault. So is the fact that I now like getting flowers and get teary-eyed at sad movies (or t.v. shows) and that I cried like none other when he proposed. I used to be a hard-rock edgy tough and somewhat tomboy chicka. But...It is official - Adam has sap-ified me, and it all started with a group of stargazer lilies.

Adam spent a week with me the first time he was in Hawaii. He left, we were already in love, and I was crushed. In one week he had gone from being a friend I hadn't seen in many years but emailed on a regular basis, to my closest friend that I was head over heels for.

A few days later I got a call from a very confused delivery guy, who in turn confused the hell out of me because I knew the UPS, USPS, FedEx, and DHL guys all knew where our house was. Adam had sent me flowers! I am not normally a flower girl but I was thrilled. One issue - they were lilies - aren't they for funerals? And they were PINK. If I wasn't exactly a flower girl, I sure as heck was not a PINK person. But they were nice and the card was touching. I called and left a thank you message for him. The next day, one of my roommates walks by and comments on my STARGAZER LILIES!!! Anyone remember what I do. Oh yeah - ASTRONOMY! (well, astrophysics but similar deal.) How perfect and thoughtful was that?!?!?! So, he quickly got an excited new thank you message that I'm certain made him laugh.

A few years later, we are engaged, and my newest sister-in-law send me this stamp from Zazzle consideration for wedding papery.

I love it! Unfortunately, Zazzle ain't cheap and we aren't focusing on our papery as a splurge point for the wedding. But I loved the thought and that same sister-in-law is a floral designer who plans on making my bouquet for me... something tells me I might find a stargazer or two in there! (I hope!... hint hint...)

Anyone else have something that appears to be incredibly not "you" thats meaningful and to be incorporated in your wedding?

Any other brides to be that aren't focused on the papery aspect as a splurge point? I seem to be in the minority here.

Relationship Scavenger Hunt Proposal

I'll give you a quick set up of info before telling you to push play on the slideshow: This is now a few days after my birthday, *Adam is at a friend's studying for his next flight (he's a Coast Guard rescue helicopter flight student), and I am at home cleaning house... oh yeah, and its raining and freezing cold outside. *Adam put a great deal of effort into the proposal, so I put some effort into the slideshow of the pictures. The comments tell the whole story and I certainly don't have the room to put them all on here!

So I called and told everyone we knew. All the girls responded by asking if it was everything I had dreamed of... notsomuch because I am not that creative and NEVER could have come up with anything this good. The fellas were a different story. All the married guys responded with "Man i am glad I am already married!" and all the single guys responded by saying they now hate *Adam because they can't top that proposal!! Yeah, that's right, I snagged a creative and romantic guy!
