Music Madness

I NEED OPINIONS ASAP!!
So we are putting together our music for the ceremony and we've come up with what we thought represented us, what we like, and a little fun. It wasn't set in stone but I emailed it around and met some serious maternal resistance. She REALLY disagrees with one of our choices and suggested I get other opinions... so here I am! I've included links to videos but keep in mind, this will all be on guitar and violin only.

(Yes, the last three are all from cartoons. Lilo and Stich, Shrek, and Ice Age.)

Parents/Guys Entrance: Ryan Schupe and the Rubberband's "Dream Big"
(not the crazy beginning - just the song part)

Bridesmaids entrance: Jack Johnson's "I can tell that we are gonna be friends"

or Great Big Sea's "Sea of No Cares" (slowed down a bit)

Bride entrance: Rascal Flatt's "Bless the Broken Road"

Music Interlude: ?? Still narrowing choices. My housekeeper/nanny/other mom has a great gospel voice and said she would sing for us.

And then comes the disputed song.... the recessional music. We wanted something fun to make people smile while we exit in all our giddy glory. And with my itunes playing in the background, I heard what we thought was a great song. Its fun and Ellie's voice could ROCK this with guru playing the guitar...

Recessional: Ellie singing Wynnona's "Burning Love"

My mother HATES this idea. She thinks it will make the whole ceremony seem a joke, that the woman I'd be asking to sing would be humiliated at my asking her to sing this, and that everyone else will think of Elvis and all it "ridiculous connotations". Then she suggested that I hear others opinions.... so tell me whatcha think please!!

We've come up with a backup of Counting Crow's "Accidentally In Love" from Shrek, but it would be guitar only since that's not something a gospel voice would be well fitted for. What do you think?

my opinion is that you should do what makes you and your fiancee happy. i think the song is adorable and very HAPPY and JOYOUS, and isn't that what a wedding is supposed to be?

yes you should do what makes you happy, but is it worth it if your FMIL is completely UNHAPPY? No. try to sit down with her and tell her why you like the songs. then have a couple back up songs and let her feel as though she has a say in helping :)

I second going with what you want. I can't watch the videos right now but I think you need to trust yourselves. If it's going to make you happy and giddy, do it. I'll bet your guests love it too.

Then again, I'm pretty sure my FI is going to come in to "Ice, Ice Baby" so who am I to talk? :-)
