Why Walk When You Can Dance?

I am sure most of you have seen this already as is has been extremely prolific on facebook, but just in case you haven't... take two minutes to watch and laugh..

...and then tell me what you think!
  • For those already married, would you have done this?
  • For those still planning, are you considering it or just think its a fun video?
  • For everyone, IF you were to do this, what song would you use!?
For my answers, IF I had seen this first, IN A HEARTBEAT!! (This is all under the assumption I could convince Adam to go for it.)

Funny story: I sent this to my mother... who may or may not read this blog...hmm... if so, Hi Mom! Her response was "I'm glad you didn't see this before the wedding!" Our priest, however, reposted this on his facebook page thinking it was a great idea and that he might have the choir and acolytes process into Sunday service like this! (Note, my mother is in the choir. :) ).

As for the song, I'm not sure. My first thought was some Jimmy Buffet, but that isn't quite "dancy". Redneck Yatch Club is fitting of our crew, but itsn't "lovely" at all. My best idea thus far would be Wynnona's Burning Love from Lilo and Stitch. Of course (as you'll hear about later in recaps), if we did "Mustang Sally" we could have had our priest singing!

Ok - And you???

Music Madness

I NEED OPINIONS ASAP!!
So we are putting together our music for the ceremony and we've come up with what we thought represented us, what we like, and a little fun. It wasn't set in stone but I emailed it around and met some serious maternal resistance. She REALLY disagrees with one of our choices and suggested I get other opinions... so here I am! I've included links to videos but keep in mind, this will all be on guitar and violin only.

(Yes, the last three are all from cartoons. Lilo and Stich, Shrek, and Ice Age.)

Parents/Guys Entrance: Ryan Schupe and the Rubberband's "Dream Big"
(not the crazy beginning - just the song part)

Bridesmaids entrance: Jack Johnson's "I can tell that we are gonna be friends"

or Great Big Sea's "Sea of No Cares" (slowed down a bit)

Bride entrance: Rascal Flatt's "Bless the Broken Road"

Music Interlude: ?? Still narrowing choices. My housekeeper/nanny/other mom has a great gospel voice and said she would sing for us.

And then comes the disputed song.... the recessional music. We wanted something fun to make people smile while we exit in all our giddy glory. And with my itunes playing in the background, I heard what we thought was a great song. Its fun and Ellie's voice could ROCK this with guru playing the guitar...

Recessional: Ellie singing Wynnona's "Burning Love"

My mother HATES this idea. She thinks it will make the whole ceremony seem a joke, that the woman I'd be asking to sing would be humiliated at my asking her to sing this, and that everyone else will think of Elvis and all it "ridiculous connotations". Then she suggested that I hear others opinions.... so tell me whatcha think please!!

We've come up with a backup of Counting Crow's "Accidentally In Love" from Shrek, but it would be guitar only since that's not something a gospel voice would be well fitted for. What do you think?

Blog Bliss: Jasmine Star...and her dog Polo

Jasmine Star is an amazing photographer. If you've never seen her work or stalked her blog, I HIGHLY recommend you do so. So shoot beautifully, and interjects personal tidbits and personality into her blog. Some people wonder why someone should stalk photog blogs.... this is why...Jasmine has a dog (Polo) who is celebrating his 2nd birthday.. and that might be the funniest picture I've ever seen. Thanks to Jasmine for posting Polo fun on her pro photog blog! Go, stalk, and enjoy!

Blog Bliss: Bridal Mii!... kinda

Yet again, "It's a Jamie thing.." has inspired me. But this time, instead of a creative or DIY thing, its just FUN! She posted about the Knot's "create your Inner Bride" feature. It's like making a Mii, except wedding style!!
So I spent a grand total of 2 minutes and voila!!! And then I've spent the next few hours smiling and laughing and being in a general good mood because its just fun. :) Thanks Jaime!
It's not the most technical thing, and doesn't have every option I can think of... but nonetheless I tried to make it someone representative of me!
So for obvious reasons... Not more reading Adam!!!
